This agenda focuses on the seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979 and the subsequent detention of American hostages in Iran. Delegates will examine the causes and consequences of the crisis, discuss the obligations of states regarding diplomatic immunity, and work toward peaceful solutions that protect hostages, prevent escalation, and uphold international law.
